Airport Man
Bri and I began our journey by checking our huge bags and it was a surprisingly fantastic experience! The man was so friendly and was more than willing to take our picture. I think this kind man is a good omen for our journey ahead!
The Beginning
At the moment I am sitting in the airport waiting for my plane to take me to Boston to start my journey. For the next month I will be in Chennai, India on a BYU Nursing Study Abroad with the program Rising Star. I will be working at a school with children from leprosy colonies. I will be giving physicals, immunizations, and educational classes and activities. Our group will also go out to the colonies to treat those afflicted with leprosy. It will be an amazing experience and I can't wait to learn all I can from the humble people of India. Of course, there are some definite concerns as I begin this epic adventure (extreme heat and humidity, bugs, illnesses, whether or not I have everything I need, etc...) but I know I will be helped along the way. My mottos for the day "Pray yourself through each day" and "Embrace It!". I know I will come out a different person after this study abroad and I can not wait to start it. I hope I can learn everything I need to learn and serve as many people as possible. I am grateful for this opportunity and am anxious to get started!
